How to steal a dog is a book about a family who is homeless. They don't live in a house or apartment they live in a car. The mom is single so she will have to work extra hard to find money for 2 kids that goes to school. One day Georgina was piss out because she can't goes into any activity after school she have to go and take care of her little brother toby since there mom is at work. Toby was thinking about stealing a dog because they really want to live in a real house or apartment. They don't want to eat frozen mac and cheese while parent are gone.
Now Toby and Georgina are looking for a dog to steal. They have to find a dog that the owner really care about and it doesn't bark when it get stolen. They been thinking that if they steal a dog the owner will have to put up a sign about the lost dog and there will got to be a reward in there. Toby family at least need $500 to buy a house or a apartment. They been searching for weeks then they found the perfect dog and the owner own the whole street so the owner got to be rich. So they decide that they will be stealing a dog. When the owner are gone they sneak in and quietly to steal a dog. After they took the dog they don't know where to put them or what to feed them. But then since there mom just got a new job she bring food home everyday so the food problem is clear but they let the dog stay in the front porch. Toby and Georgina didn't tell there mom about that they stole a dog. Toby was waiting for the sign with the reward in it but they didn't see a sign. So they decide to go to there house to see what going on.
At the end of the book Toby and Georgina decided that should return the dog because they feel guilty about what they done. THe owner was really worried about Willy ( Willy is the dog name) and the owner wasn't that rich so she didn't put much money in the reward sign. Then Toby and Georgina knew that Carmella was poor. Georgina decided that her and Toby should return the dog since they won't get anymore reward. They also learned that stealing a dog was a BAD idea.
